SSIC Challenge -- Exodus 8:9-11

The Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge is based on a scripture.  Here is this weeks:

Scripture: Exodus 8:9-11 "Moses said to Pharaoh, 'I leave to you the honor of setting the time for me to pray for you and your officials and your people that you and your houses may be rid of the frogs, except for those that remain in the Nile.' 'Tomorrow," Pharaoh said. Moses replied, 'It will be as you say, so that you may know there is no one like the Lord our God, The frogs will leave you and your houses, your officials and your people; they will remain only in the Nile.'"

Challenge: Use the color green in your card/project

OWH S&S MWT

The Stars and Stamps Midweek Throwdown challenge this week is to make a masculine themed card.  I found this pick up truck at the In a Scrap Creation blog.  It looked pretty manly to me.  What girl doesn't like a pick-up man?

OHW S&S Sketch and other challenges

I made it back from my trip to Florida.  It was my first time there.  Orlando is a beautiful city.  Right before I left, I rcvd my Copic markers.  I bought the two Parpercrafting sets of 72.  It killed me that I couldn't play with them...they were just sitting on my craft table waiting for me to use them.  I been messing with them for a couple of days..They are wonderful.  I'm havining a little bit of a learning curve.  I can't stay in the lines. lol.  I think I need to go back to Kinder to learn the basics.  I keep telling myself it is the cardstock I'm using.  I'm just using the cardstock I buy at Walmart to make card bases.  I know I need to buy specific white cardstock made for Copic coloring.  I hope to get some this weekend.  I also want to buy a Cuttlebug.  I love the embossing folders everyone seems to be using.  And the fancy cuts it makes around images.  I'm still in the researching stage of purchasing a Cuttlebug.  If anyone has any advice, please pass it on. :)

Now for the challenges.  I love the Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps Sketch Challenge this week.  It's easy and looks very nice.  Here is the sketch.
My card is a bright and bold fun card, that I hope some child will love.  I had fun using my Copics to color them in.
Card Specs: Cardstock from CTMH; Digi Stamp from Cuddl Buddly; Bling from Michaels

Other Challenges I going to enter this card into....

Thanks for looking.
Have a good day,

S&S MWT Challenge - Red White Blue & Kraft

This weeks Midweek Throwdown is a color challenge.  We had to use red, white, blue, and kraft.
I used CTMH cardstock and the CTMH Snap Crackle Pop stamps. I didn't have any dark kraft cardstock so I used what I had on hand.  It doesn't come out at all in the picture, but it is a shade of tan.  I just couldn't pass up playing in this weeks MWT.

Thanks for looking.
Many blessings,
Laura

Challenge: Make a card/project that uses no words on the front yet signifies love.

Here is my card:
I used the Fiskars hearts embossing plate.  CTMH cardstock and stamp.  And the pearls I got at Michaels.

OHW MWT "On the Farm" Challenge

Of all the stamp that I have, I didn't have not one farm animal.  So, I thought this is great... this gives me an excuse to go to Hobby Lobby and shop for some supplies.  I found a couple of farm animal stamps, but they were not very cute.  I did find these Jolee's farm animals...aren't they cute?  I didn't actually stamp anything, but I did tear and sponge dab some ink on the grass and sun.  :P  So, here is my card...$70 later after my quick run into Hobby Lobby. lol.  Don't you just love when that happens... :)

Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #74

After looking at tons of challenges, I found another one I will try to participate in weekly.  The Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge is awesome.  The challenges are based on scripture.  This week is ...

Scripture: Psalm 23, "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

Challenge: Use the colors blue (still waters) and green (green pastures) as the predominate colors in your card/project.

The supplies I used for this card are CTMH stamps and cardstock.  The background paper is from a Stack I bought ages ago.  And, the brads, well, I've had those longer than I've had the Stack.

I'm still new at blogging and making cards for challenges.  My cards are pretty simple but, I like them that way.  I know my cards can't compete with the other cards submitted for this challenge, but the only way I'll get better is to challenge myself each week.

Let me ask this...  is blog hopping addicting or is it just me?  I can't seem to stop once I start.  There are so many challenges, so many digital stamping blogs and sites, and tons of blogs that I want to follow.  I recently retired from the Air Force, and now I have time to devote to my family and my crafts.  And I just discovered blogs and card challenges.  I had no idea this blogging thing was so much fun.

I hope you like my simple card.  :)
Many blessings,
Laura
